POST EVENT SUMMARY
Upon returning and presenting their idea, the students found out that the Association of Hispanics and Latinos was also planning to organize a community event, therefore they joined forces 😊
The 6 students who participated in the leadership summit were the main planners together with Fabian Cinfuegos, who is the president of AHL, and helped with coordinating all the other students who wanted to participate.
During the festival, Ayleeen maned the entrance table (participants were given a passport they had to fill with stamps for each table to be able to spin the prize wheel), Ariel, Lizbeth, Ja’Ryia and Avery maned tables for Mexico, France, Sénégal, Tunisia and Marocco. Dominic couldn’t attend the event but helped with the logistics.
It was a joined effort among many students and for being the first time, we had a great turned out: we estimated around 300 participants (students, teachers, families, and other community members).
The students were very proud of their work and the success of the event: it took them several weeks to figure out logistics, prepare all the materials, organize games and tables and design the decorations 😊
